You do you on this, it would be bad idea to continue something that affects you that much. From personal experience interests and motivation changes as needed. Nothing's stopping you from continuing with a fresher mind after all!
If music is your creative outlet against the mental strain and is better mental health wise, why wouldn't you want to do what makes you happier?
